Fluency Phrases

Your child is bringing home a sheet of fluency phrases each week. Please take a few minutes each week to have your child read these to you. They need to try to read them smoothly. This is reading fluently. If they read them bumpy or like a robot, have he/she read it again and try to read it smooth this time.

As of now, we will be giving Spring reading assessment in GRADE the week we return from Spring Break. It will benefit your child to begin practicing reading now. Also, ask your child questions about stories read at home with you to check their comprehension of the story read.

Valentine's Day Party

We will have a Valentine's Day Party on Friday, Feb. 12. It will be from 12:00-12:40 pm. We will exchange valentines and watch a movie. Since we have lunch from 11:05-11:30, students will not be very hungry. If you would like to send some chips, cookies, candy, or drinks for the party please send it on the morning of Friday, Feb. 12.

We have 21 students in our classroom. Please have your child sign their name on the valentine card and leave the envelope or who it is to blank. This makes it easier for the students to pass out. They can just go around and drop a valentine in each of their classmates mailbags.
